I have seen this type of metal detector on ebay. They are made in China and will last until you decide wheather to stay in the hobby or not. It is better than spending $500 and then after a couple of outings just putting it into a closet. It is a throw away detector. When it packs it in, you either upgrade or buy another.

I certainly wish you the best of luck with the new "toy" and also with your hunting.

Give us a shout if I can ever be of any help.

Cheers,

Mike

Rebel173153;

Give us a couple photos, both on and off, stretched out, etc.

It sounds interesting but I can not quite picture it.... there is lots of garden velcro, at Walmart and others, also comes in varying widths; garden velcro sticks on itself and does not need special ends. Its green, tho.

Ah! Garden velcro was MADE just for that kind of use! For tying tall plants to stakes!

Thanks for the pic. of the velcro.  I do much better with a visual...  I am going to try that.  Thanks for this great tip and for explaining why to do it in the first place.

P.S.  I went digging in my yard again yesterday and first hit was an old metal car.  Then the rest was scrap!

Hello Teddi14 . You are Very Welcome !! Send a forum pm to Christian , he will be glad to answer any questions you may have on forum credits or anything else .
Once you learn your machines notch and discrimination settings , you will be digging less garbage . And when you find 2 or 3 nice gold rings you can upgrade to a Tesoro Vaquero or Cortez or even a Whites DFX300 .
Best of luck ................Eugene

I agree anything that finds metal is not junk... you should get a look at my metal detector.... looks like some one built it in their garage.... but it does find metal....

It actually was designed for diving so it is encased in a thick acrylic clear box... and it does look ugly... I have the older Garrett Sea Hunter XL500 VLF... and very ugly!!

Keith
P.S.  When you do find something please share.... Have fun hunting...
