Anyone can ID these two buckles, they were found at asite with dozens of Buttons but they were both US and Can/Brit and many musket balls, obviously a skirmish had happened there.,..........HH  Johnnn

Exciting time detecting that spot, huh? I'm assuming you just came upon it accidentally. I can't help with ID, but did want to say "Wow". Sue

After much research and reading the "dispaches" from the period they were a suprise because the spot has no reference as to actual loss, we actually feel that there are burried soldiers there.
There were too many buttons at this one location which was unusual.

Johnnn, How rare to come upon a spot where something obviously happened, but wasn't documented. To stand there and imagine what happened. Neat mystery. Sue

Hi Sue,
Now you think just like we do and its nice to know that some of us do fantasize about such things, and it is a suprise when you walk into something like that, it takes a while to take it in and come up with an answer.
We would like to get a GPR unit to this location to see if there are burials there, that would be real cool to find out there was........HH   Johnnn

Nice find...I really like buckles from early times. I found a Militia buckle that was probably from 1830's several years ago and sold it. I wish I'd have kept that buckle...Hind sight's 20 20 they say.
