No.   Detectors can cross talk feet and yards from each other.

Yes even the manufactures of detectors will some times point this out.  Will have to try out different spacing to find out how much 'Cross talking takes place'.  Best to have a number of yards apart how ever this is a lot of foot work when some one is talking about tons of rock....... Embarrassed :-

Hello
Got two 4 inch coils to try using now.  One will be above and one below will have to practice at different  distances.  Hope this one does not go crazy with the testing.... Crazy ........ Funny
Next will try the same with two Falcon detector coils.

Hello
Will do some tests with two metal detectors by having just one on while the other detector is turned on and off at different distances apart.  Will watch the meters as they are older anolog type detectors.  Any tips out there? Undecided

I think  most issues would be with the detectors in motion causing variances in  Rx signal.  Stationary the two signals will have slight different Frequencies and most likely set up a Beat Frequency.  Again Bad Ju Ju  Any Phase Shift in the Rx is going to be seen as a Target signal in a VLF detector.

Hello
Thanks for the tips Homefire  Grin .   If the two metal detectors coils are  stationary and the test rock sample is moved over each coil one at a time there would still be the same 'Beat frequency lock stepping' of  of both metal detectors correct?

This one will try to make the 'Panto graph' swing over a yard distance on the steel model and say 22 - 26 inches on the aluminum model.  This should be enough distance for sure on the Falcon metal detector set up.  This may not be enough for say two 4 inch coils........Starting to get crazy  Crazy here..... Funny

Yes.   When two signals are combined you will get the sum and the difference produced in the receive section.    Heterodyne

Hello
May have the best 'Luck' with two Falcon metal detector probes.  Will have to try.  The Falcons sure have really bad cables that fail from the factory.

Hello
May start a new tread on the modification forum about holding stand or frame to put the 4 inch coils say about 2 feet in the air on rocky ground.  The Falcon coils should be real easy to deal with.  Idea

Not sure I  know what your trying to do here.  Is this for testing Samples at a stationary station?

Yes however the idea is to put the 'Stationary station' on a small stool or field sand that can be moved as many feet as one likes at a time to keep sampling say a rock out crop.  The stand may work better then a stool with some rock sitting on the base of the stand on a sloped ground.  Brush and logs is of course a big factor. Both ideas should work.  Maybe someone has already talked about this before?
