i have found some of the same script buttons on the mississippi river south of new orleans. the british tried and did come up to new orleans. not a lot of british stuff though. i love those very early buttons. super great saves on those relics and great finds. thanks for sharing.

old post I see, but awesome buttons John! Do you have any more war of 1812 buttons or relics to share? Or revolutionary war finds? Would love to see them! I will post some of mine up shortly. Where in Ontario are you?

I live in Cambridge Ont, about an hour and half from these sites, we have only 3 left from the 5 we had and as you know these finds are non reknewable so gone is gone.........HH.........Johnnn Grin

Very cool Johnnn. I am very familiar with Cambridge and am there often. I am from London originally, and I have family in Cambridge.

No, the sites don't renew themselves...but I wish they did!  Grin

I am sure you have probably had the small eagle pewter badge identified by now, but if not it is War of 1812 (obviously) U.S. eagle cockade badge. Hope this helps.

My buttonjs are not all identified yet they spend too much time in a large glass jar when this site came along I showed them off as I know there are many guys in the US who know thier stuff and can ID them........HH...Johnnn
