My detecting buddy found this button a long time ago we were unable to ID it any onew know anything about it? makers name is illegible...HH....johnnn

I thought it might be as well, but I didn't see any mention of the LS that is on the button.  I hought maybe it was an extension of the Lower Saucon line, but couldn't see the pattern at all.

The LS could be for  Lehigh & Susquehanna branch of the Lehigh Valley or one of the other subsidiaries.   Another possibility for the LS is Lake Shore Railroad since both the Lehigh Valley and the Lake Shore were controlled by the Vanderbilts for a while.  The LVRR really pushed its supposed connection to the lakes for a while.

Smart man.   I've seen an identical button, except that the LS is an LV (which is what would be expected).   Makes you wonder if it is a knock-off, a modification, or a special button for a subsidiary, doesn't it?   Hopefully they will be able to give you answers.
