  hello GD
the target isnt in WA. So over say 100 years it would be expected to sink to the bottom of the clay / mud ? It got me to thinking would the chest even hold together for that amont of time ? I dont have a proton mag, so the next step would be to try to make one, and also chech the bed rock depth.  Cool

I didn't think it was in WA but I used that as an example. Your locale will be different. The Murray River has deep silt that needs to be dredged often for boating. Here in WA, only the tinnies make it up and down. Or kayaks, inflatables and skiffs like in the Avon Descent every year.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Ok thanks GD, Good example. It's probly the same the world over, just with the variables of tides, sediments and other local weather systems adding to the mix.

If you use the tf900 in motion mode and walk slowly u can get a signal pretty close to on top of it. If u use the tr (non motion mode) you're gonna get a lot of flutter and noise, use the motion mode promise. Was a dealer for 25 yr and the tf900 and whites 808 are about alike but tf900 is a smiget better has grn bal.

Two-Box detectors are useless? That depends on what you're looking for lol.
In MY case it's exactly the type of equipment that can be a huge advantage.

B79, I think you make a good point about pulse induction machines with salt soil/water.
