Hmm I was raised in the mountains of Colorado  in what was once known as the richest square mile on earth for Gold (Central City and Black Hawk )
And have never seen anything like this .

I agree with BA think Dobie  wrote about a case involving fire and gold but I could not find a references in any of this books. I have also read several other stories along these lines and they all have roots in old Mexico, the only one I remember goes like this.
A old peon and his wife while traveling home late one night see a small fire at the base of a tree it went out before they got to it. A couple days later the old  man decides to investigate he went to the tree and found no burned grass wood anything so just blow it off. Sometime later he heard of gold fires went back and dug up a small cache of gold coins. Who knows its something I read somewhere I do have a story from a Cajun friend in Louisiana about gold and fire somewhere if I can find it will post.

In my country these stories are known, and not occur in swampy places and the flame takes about 1/2s or 1s

Village Roșiile,valley of Buzau,village Dor Marunt. They are only part of places.The flames have seen by the village elders.I think these places were searched by illegal treasure seekers and if they find something they do not know.

 Dac, if you can narrow down the site location. Perhaps the eye witness account and the time of the event.
 Do you have some other interesting treasure tales from your country? I've heard that there are some good caches in your country.   Cool

I got information from multiple sites.This information was gathered by reporters,and they say that these events appear on April 24 and New Year,but the data are related to mysticism.The 24 april is one day before  Easter.In my  country have found many treasures, but most important is composed of 15 bracelets found illegal tresure hunters varying between 682.30 and 1196.03 g.Some have been recovered by authorities.

Personally I think this is a bunch of malarkey, flames coming out of the ground, where gold is buried Ha! No no!
Everyone knows it's alien invaders, coming back to find a piece of a lost space craft or a recording device.
Swamp gas that too is a bunch, those space aliens just know we down here are really gullible

hello dac,
I am also from Romania and yes we have legends wich talk about fire from the ground. It says if fire is redish in collor the treasure is not coursed if its flame is blue its coursed. There is a story in my home village in Romania where a guy have dug after at night saw flames...he found a barrel full with gold coins but as he tooked out he got muted so he got scared and burried it back again...all the village old people knows the story...including my grandmother shes 78yrs old.
There are also many other storyes related with such fenomenon i"ve seen it even on tv here in Romania...Some say its related with saint calendaristic dates like for example the night of Saint Andrew wich might ocure... so if you are lucky outside during at night you might see such fenomenon and it happens once in years..but who knows...legends?
Dac where from Romania are you meaby we hang out for a hunt..Smiley
