Zebulon Pike's Expedition To The Southwest 1806-1807
Vicente de Zaldívar, Ońate's nephew and one of his most trusted soldiers, led the first exploration.
Those letters could also represent places, such as citys.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more interest in this.  The date calls the carving into question as 1841 is too early and 1941 too late for Caleb Rhoades.  The location might shed some light on this and perhaps reveal more info.  There are a lot of phony clues to Caleb's activities in the Uintas, but pursuing this would certainly be entertaining even if not particularly valuable.
