Have you ever used the IR technology for cache hunting? Was it sucessful?

I think it would have to either be a big cache or very close to the surface for IR to help in pin pointing the actual treasure.

I finnaly got around to playing with my camera this morning. Here is a pic of my cat. He was a little put out by me taking his photo!

Smokin', I think you'll find some discussion of IR in the Tech Talk (just in case you haven't looked there).   Seems there is some interest in it, but some debate as to is effectiveness and how to best use it.

Thanks I have not read that yet. I will keep future posts in the correct forum!

I must say from my preliminary test it doesn't look promising from the ground. I am sure glad I purchased the camera for other reasons!!

I think I have found a good way to use the camera to find treasure. I will offer my services to perform thermal surveys of people homes in exchange for hunting leads!!!

I am going to take it up with me next time I am playing around in the air and look at a couple of places where I know there are foundation in the underbrush. I wish I could afford the helicopter, but at $280/hr it's not for "just playing"

To really take good photos I need to be slow and low so maybe I should buy a powered parachute of ultralight.

I showed your cat pic to my wife and she loved it! "Holy Moly" was her reaction, I need to get some night vision goggles to hunt at night that would be sweet!

I have tried a few different commercial night vision setups and I must say I would only purchase army issue! Even though I think they are unavailable here in the US. I used them in the Army 13+ years ago and I have yet to find anything that compares.
