Go Up Go Down

Site: Japanese army WW2 underground complex/ air-raid shelter.
Source: 90 year old slave-labor survivor who worked at the site.
Area: Approximately 2.5 acres.
Location: beside a river.
Terrain of site: Flat to gently undulating.
Surrounding terrain: Flat and approximately 2 feet lower than the target site. The river is of course much lower.

Detector used: Discovery 2 box.
North to south scan: Sharp short tone every 3 feet for the entire 2.5 acre area.
West to east scan: Sharp short tone every 3 feet for the entire 2.5 acre area.
"Control" scan outside the site in surrounding property: No tones.
Loud and continuous signals: 6 clear targets. The largest was approx 5 feet in diameter.

Questions:
1) Would the short sharp tones at 3 feet intervals be indicative of i-beams? The tone seems too distinct to be the usual concrete beam rebar.
2) Can anyone provide architectural plans or any diagrams for Japanese bunkers and similar below-ground constructs?

Thanks!

We have punched several Jap bunkers over the years.  Post a sketch of what you are talking about and any pictures to give a better idea of the terrain.  What island is also inportant.

Do you have an accompanying depth with your scans? What is your estimate? 2.5 acres is a big area!

Best regards,
