Hello Oldmaninpa and birdman, I returned to the states last week and if you are interested in getting together, I too would be interested.  I am trying to learn more about this as a hobbie and could use all the help I can find.  We have had great input from around the country on research and I would love to get the canoe out to see "God Rock" and maybe eventually find the lead plates used as markers
I look forward to hearing from you

Hello how is this hunt going i am from Kane kind of in the middle of this area. Id love to get involved in this.  With fishing season coming up it would be a good excuse to get out there i have gps and metal detectors and numerous stories.  This area is id say alittle more than rugged the Allegheny river still goes through the heart of the most untame area next to potter County probably. The fact that every tree in alot of these areas was cut down at one point hurts if you look at pictures of towns like Bradford the was not a tree on the horizon.  I would imagine Franklin got hit like that too. Also the kinzua  damn build on the Allegheny may have Changed the area as well.  Is any one close to indian god rock or the susquehanna i find it interesting that most hieroglyphs sites and clovis point sites aren't very far  apart.  One other of the wall question is any one close to red Hill,  pa?  I read an article claiming that they found fossils of the amphibian missing link to humans possibly?  And is the history or discovery Channel really filming at dents run?? The supposed  sight of another lost  treasure?

This is an old post but if anyone is still interested in the Frenchman gold. Their is a story on it in October 1975 treasure magazine. Some of the gold was found in Franklin pa. 130+ years ago. Pictures of God rock can be found in the book weird Pennsylvania. Local rumor has it that one of the lead plates is suppose to have been found by fisherman in the mid 1980's at the mouth of French creek.
