Go Up Go Down

Back in the mid 80's near kansas city mo. there was a metal detector dealer by the name of Robert L Tatham-He wrote a book on Missouri treasures and civil war sites and in the book there were 4 sets of numbers that referred to a treasure box he buried with gold, silver, and precious gems--all the clues for breaking the codes were in the book--they were patterned after the Beale codes--I understand that the codes have never been solved and the treasure is still buried after all these years--I did play with these codes back in the early 90's but lost interest-I heard that Mr. Tatham passed away a few years ago and began to think about these codes again--Has anyone heard of this treasure hunt?

I haven't heard of it before, but you've sparked my interest.

Well,If you look for the book it is called "missouri treasures and civil war sites" the 1982 edition only-it has been out of print for years but can still be found.-it is a small phamplet type book with around 80 pages.-I was hoping that others might have worked on these cyphers way back when and replied.Maybe someone will yet. Here is a copy of the page describing the treasure.

I knew Bob Tatham and bought a few of his detectors and have talked to him at his home. He was always easy going. I believe he had a condo in florida that he had with a pardner as he often would tell us to stay their if needed for a small fee to recoup cleaning charges. He acknowleged he had found some caches but wouldn't elaborate about them. Some years before he died someone broke into his home and stole about 10,000$ worth of silver and gold coins after that he put them in his bank.

MMMM....the 2 reliable witnesses worry me a little. When gold is involved "reliable" usually becomes a relative term.....yes sure I'll be your witness.....ka ching!
But if I was living in your part of the world I would probably give those codes a bash should be fun anyway!
