Sometimes folks get a little carried away wanting answers and cut and paste the same post in several threads no big deal. Most of the mod's and a lot of members read every post so there is no need to post a question but once.

......not to mention the fact that if a moderator thinks you've posted the question in the wrong place and would be more likely to get answer on another board, we'll generally move it for you.

We're not in the habit of deleting posts.   We may move them to a more appropriate board if they are posted to the wrong board, but delete---no.   In the time I've been here, I can only remember a literal handful of posts that were deleted and those because they were offensive and abusive, not because they were "embarassing".   Since your posting history shows posts on dowsing, it doesn't look to me like they have been deleted.   If you want to discuss the "missing" post either send a pm to a moderator or open something in the FAQ board.

But this conversation has clearly gotten off subject.....so let's get back to searching_old_houses_for caches

About the only post that get deleted are some that are not in English and then only after the poster has been asked to use only English and do not. Or when the poster ask the same question on several different threads

BA I think he was surprised that they were not deleted least that's the way I read it. Drowsing post  are ok till they turn bad very strong believers on both sides there.

I really think a skinny metal rod for probing would be a great help. They can go three feet deep, but you need to have an idea theres something there. I wonder if his marker is a reference and he is close, just not the right spot. Trying to put myself there as a military officer burying loot. Id look for expended bullets in the ground.

When I was in the Phillipines serving in the US Navy I heard of a volcano that had erupted somewhere there and people seen or found gold coins that had been hidden somewhere in the mountain and when it  exploded it sent the coins everywhere.

Ok heres another story. A friend named Ron is married and his father inlaw died recently of cancer. Well Randy (his father inlaw) once owned a bar in town. When his kids were sorting thru his things they come upon the closet in his bedroom. The mood was somber of course. They pulled boxes out and looked thru them and came upon one on the bottom. Low and behold it had paper money in it nothing old just money. When the counting was done they had $75.000 in the box.

Ok one more then Ill be done with my true stories for a while. I have told you all some true stories that most caches were found in my little city. About 15 years ago there stood a large house where the owner who was old had died. Well the city wanted the house tore down because it had become a blighted property. Again the family wanted to go thru the house before it was to be demolished. Low and behold hidden in the house was $200.000 in old paper money. Makes one think if this is happening around this little city it may be all over the place.

Hello LeRoy Silver

Thanks for the story. It is more common than you think and it is not just in America. There are many reasons why stashes of money are hidden. It has been done for centuries. And its still happening. How many elderly in your country with small fortunes tucked away in fear of the banks even today?

Logically we could make a statistical estimate of you small city as an example. 275000 dollars from two stories alone based on population level of your town. Imagine the amount of money hidden in city or whole county of larger population?

Hardluck
