Wish the best of luck to you.  I personally, found a good sized cash with nickels, dimes, pennies, quarters, half dollars and one silver dollar form 1888.  It was in a small silver dish like thing.  I know that feeling to find a cache.  Keep at it and keep us informed!!

That is really cool.

I found about 55 cents in a rotten
old coin purse. I remember 2 rosies
and a couple nickles and some
wheeties.

Not enough to get real excited about.

But, it was a fun dig for sure.

lvsparky;
Great stuff.

What county (not asking for a pinpoint just a generality,) My great grandfather lived in Iowa and my grandpa was born in Cedar rapids but Great grandpa farmed in Illinois before going to Iowa. By all repute, he was a tightwad, as many may have been, then, not that HE ever buried money.

I heard of one like that, here, but they were hundreds of paper grain cheques, buried in sealers.... not even worth looking for.

Show us a photo.

Cool   Geez sparky- that sounds like a fantastic find- I have got to get me one of those old lead top mason jars and fill it with coins to see how my detector will react- Tabdog keeps telling me that the South is loaded- We have just got to find it- heck its just going to waste in the ground anyway- right?

The old jars had zinc scew rings, if they did not have the glass, snap tops. NEVER lead!

I have dug old mason jars. They are
always broke.  Embarrassed

I just aint found one with gold or silver.

Man or man, when I do,,,,,  Cool

I'm a little confused so I hope you can clear this up for me, lvsparky. Did you find the old silver in a mason jar and was it the 50 pieces or is the 50 pieces the treasure cache listed on the map? Congrats on your find! Great
Ken
