I would have to agree that more treasure on land has been found. But that can be explained by the fact that more treasure WAS BURIED on land for one. And it's MUCH EASIER to make a recovery on land.

For me buried treasure stories are much more interesting. I've been an historical researcher specializing in famers from the 1800's and early 1900's that buried their gold coins. Thru my research I have thousands of sites where these hoards were mmost likely not found. And if you think that farmers ONLY buried very small amounts of gold, well ....................... that''s just not true! Take a look:
