during the week I work in Switzerland,would like to share a few pics with you all,the pics where taken last week ca 5min walk from my second home in switzerland,the bunkers where built in 1940 fearing the germans would invaid,they are on the swiss Lichtenstein border,look forward to search there soon,just waiting untill the fields are croped,also alot of roman history in this area....Mikek

Thanks for sharing the pictures.   The bunkers are much better preserved than the ones I saw on the Siegfried line in the 70's----but then giving the history of the two areas, it would be very suprising if were otherwise.   Occassionally a bunker would be found in that area that was in pretty decent shape, but they were the exception.  Most were nothing more than piles of rubble once the allies got done with them.

dont forget switzerland was neutral,hitler would of taken it at the end,with the gold and cash reserves,,,but he never got that far,notice the tank ditch,It might of held the germans back a few days if they had invaided,but not longer...mikek

You're right, even though Switzerland was neutral, Hitler would have taken it one way or another given the opportunity.  
btw, the first time I ever used a metal detector was next to a bunker in Germany.   Found a row of machine gun bullets neatly stitched into the side of a shallow ravine.  (might not have been the smartest thing I ever did, but I was in good company   Cool )
