I was wonder if anyone has had any experiences with treasure hunting near the mountains of San Diego County or Imperial County in California.

In what way? Gold prospecting? Mineral prospecting? Coin hunting? Cache hunting? Relic hunting? Your question is interesting but kind of vague.

Which SD mtns? I am near Palomar and there is more hunting grounds than I will ever be able to cover. World famous tourmaline, gold, spessartite and more.

There is SO much to find in your area. Just go outside and start hunting!

Salton Sea, Blythe, Hauser, Cinammon, Potato Patch, tons of abandoned mines, mex-am war relics. You are in a very good location to literally just go outside and find a variety of treasure.
