I was living in Alberta and there the panning season  is from May 15 to October 15, the permit value $50 by 5 years if my memory is ok, just be carefull from Bears and there are some other rules about stream's contamination. HH. Jorgev.

With all this talk about panning and maybe finding GOLD in these darn hills / streams ... I want to go out and start looking now - but wit not having the right tools yet - I will have to wait ...

Someplace on the Youtube there is a group that found a Belt of black sands on the beach that was paying most well.

Damned right! I started using a small wok Grin Moved on to an el cheapo 10" plastic pan, then the Turbopan and now the Batpan (IMO one of the best pans for nabbing the ultrafines).
