Hello Everyone . Was the town a myth , did it exist and was it ever found or just rebuilt on the rubble ?
Thanks......HH...........Eugene

Not sure... I read one time, the original location, of Carthage, was not rebuilt, I think, perhaps someone else may know..... Google, here we go....  I was definitely NOT a myth, and it was destroyed by the Romans, in retaliation, for Hannibal's raid.

Carthage was definitely rebuilt, but I don't know if it was rebuilt on top of the destroyed ruins or nearby.  It fell to the Vandals and was the capital of the Vandal Kingdom for a while, was recovered by the Romans (or Byzantines rather) and then lost to the Arabs.

Romans are/were not Byzantines... Byzantines were essentially Greek..... NEVER call a Greek, Roman, nor a Roman, Greek! You might have to suffer a Gypsy curse!  Grin

Actually Byzantines have a devious ancestry. (I hated history, in school, but it stuck!)

If you asked a Byzantine what he was, he would have told you he was a Roman.  They did not call themselves Byzantines.  They did not call themselves Greeks.  They called themselves Romans.

You are looking at it from the pro-ROMAN view, a lot of Greeks hated the Roman overlay and preferred to be Greek, but the Turks had the final word. Even before that happened, the Vikings had a finger in the pie!

To say ROMAN, is oversimplification!  Cool

Next thing you know, the Romans will have discovered America, including the millions who were already here!  Shocked

goldigger (we should go back in time and shoost some Romans?)

You have taken the simple fact I stated and stretched it into something ridiculous.  You have assumed, and I don't know why, that I have some inaccurate view of history.  I would rather not have a debate at all, let alone one where my supposed opinions are not mine at all.  I have responded only because your post seem to to have the deliberate intention of making me appear to be a fool.  I don't appreciate that.

SORRY! I was not aware you were so paranoid.... I will never comment on history again! Besides you can not change history... it is DONE, OVER!

I do not know you, there is/was NO personal intent nor attack! Go live with Alan Hassel, he is exactly your type!
