Oh yes, My big coils do it to and nearly all detectors do it.

Pat that is a good thing it making those noises coz when it is out of discrimination range of the detector it will do it coz it is
just on the edge of the detectors depth thats if it is faint, But if it is louder then it is telling you that the item is a mix of metals
so it is acting as a third form disc I'd.
NO 1 you have tone id, NO2 you have VDI numbers, and then you have that, and the multi tone is going to save you alot of diggin
It's a cool thing Pat, Try this get your lowest smallest silver modern clad coin and a silver coin the same size and go to the space
ship and get a pulltab now lay them on the ground at equal distances apart and turn the machine on and try sweeping over them
one at a time and slowly increase the power until you get the two tone noises, on minimum it will be like a target at depth and set
higher it will be like a target close to the surface and this will help you ID things without looking at the meter coz you will train you ears and learn the sounds without thinking, OK
