Go Up Go Down

yesterday and opened her up this morning around 8am while having some richly brewed java.

I know it's kind of early, but pull up a chair & grab yourself a bag of popcorn. Grin

The Machine is in excellent condition, the chap never had a coil cover though so thats got even fine wear on its base but no drastic wear & tear, so I've got to locate one. Also no rechargeable battery charger with it.

Okay, well the mid section connector of the upper & lower fiberglass shaft, the round plastic tightening ring?  Well that doesn't seem to tighten down and it's only the larger ribbed piece and a small plastic end that seems to rest just inside the mail connector, but seems as if there should be some sort of threaded piece or rubber gasket or not?

Anyways, the Fisher signed carry case is nice and even has the original key for the lock which does work.

I tossed a good quality fresh set "8" of them "AA" doggies inside that thing & fired her up, yes she made a sweet powered up tune and I knew she would be okay hopefully.

I finished my 3 rd cup of coffee & had to go across the street to this old cut stone 1850's church which was built on a slight hill side into basically a bank. Some good frontal grounds and sides, so I checked the settings out and gave her a whack. Detecting

I got a signal as these are noted for, some fuzz & popping and scanned slowly and got what I figured was a good strong round type signal, got off the hit and toggled and pulled the same signal, so I'm saying her we go, maybe a 1840's seated liberty or some other old Silver coin, with fingers & toes crossed!

Trying to pinpoint with this deep seeker is tough with a 12 open spider coil, so I did my best and started digging, at 8" down I said to my self, what the heck?  What do I have to do, dig to china here! Angry

Ran the coil over the hole again & and no signal...

Checked the dirt pile, and yep had that same signal there, so I start sifting it, and couldn't find the target, coiled it again and narrowed it down to see some round rusted coin or token I thought?

Thick like a silver dollar thickness, round in shape and rusted, cleaned it off some and still no ID to it at all, so off into the cup with Pepsi cola to work the rust some.

I Wonder what it is?

Probably end up being some round flat solid steel washer or something.Cry

That's my find in ten minutes today, and getting ready to go out and check some planted targets for sound ID learning curve.

Cheers, Great
Jim

Go Up Go Down

I had a Computer Saboteur in the house today.

Slitzonians for sure.

Got a bit tired so I layed down for a half hour.

Woke up and Three keys are missing from Toshiba lap top.

Missing the Left Alt, C and X keys.

Found one on the floor all chewed up.

So if anyone out there knows were I can find some, Let me know.

 Shocked

Called all two of our local repair shops and they say you have to order the whole set at a time.

Horse Crap.

Hello RR,
I think she might be some trouble trying to pinpoint with this large coil, but practice as you know makes for a perfect day.

It measures exactly 10.5" in diameter, I thought it seemed large possibly around 12" at first but I took a tape & measured her just now. So I guess this actually is a desired size coil.

lol, yeah the gain is cranked up a tad, better turn it down some some you can get some channels on that big old digital HD screen!  Grin

Cheers & Thanks,
Jim
