Homie I once shot a rat in the storage building at a house we owned years ago with a 12 GA shotgun.
I spent the next week fixing holes. Replacing siding etc.  Damn pump shotgun.  Grin  and he was fast as I kept missing him.
day 2 and a box of shells. And I had a dead gopher rat.

Hahahaha What did you do throw the box at him   Grin Grin Grin Grin

The first time after I was out of shells.
The next day I got that sucker. Had just a couple of shells left..
but what a mess I created.  The kids still tease me about shooting the walls out.
but it's OK I got that bastage.

It's not ready for show off yet mate LOL (No sparks flying off the top) I'm looking for some thinner wire for the secondary coil, I also want to redo the bottle capacitor, then I want to change the flyback driver with a better one (half wave) This was my first attempt at making a Tesla coil so I did not quite get it right but that's OK because now I know where I can improve it. I will post a photo of it in operation a bit latter on, I need to get an economy globe to get it to show something.

Very cool, X!  I've always found Tesla a very interesting guy.  Never understood his theories but always fascinated by him.  I' no tech guy so I would never attempt something like you're doing.  Keep on going!  I'm looking forward to the coil in operation!

Yes Nicola Tesla was one heck of a guy, his inventions did not stop with electricity either.  He would be so exited if he could see what we have done with his coil. We would not have cars if it were not for the Tesla coil (ignition coil) or TV's (flyback transformers) neon signs could not have worked either and no florescent lighting just to mention a few that derived from his coil.
