At least in the motor home when I get 8 mpg. I at least have a full kitchen,  bedroom and bathroom etc.

just having a back seat wide enough to be a twin bed doesn't make the mileage worth it to me.

my dad had one of them old caddys. I remember him always complaing about the mileage.

were they that Bad then ??

My F-350 with a 351 Cleveland and 4.56 Gears use to do 12 mpg and my F-100 swb with 4.11 Gears use to do about 18-22 mpg

Karl you must have 4.56 or 4.71 in the back of you Camper

Alfie I guess a person could only drive it on sundays coz he'd have to work all week to pay for the Gas

Cache theres about 3 things that will make it chew Tyres 1 being it had suspension issues 2 it had a locked back axle or 3 it had been Hit up the you know what and the chassis was out of alignment,  If the suspension Bushes are badly worn the Axle will change its angle and that will do it.
lol, John the reason I chewed up tires was what Karl said....Horsepower, I would'nt keep my foot out of it, lol. Heres a pic of our Bradley GT. Anybody remember them? Built on a VW pan. I toke off the roof. If you remember these had gull wings doors. I could carry my detector in the rear hatch.   And yes Karl, I would put a Bull guard on the RV for the deer.

Karl Get your Self a champion 12,500 or 15,000LBS winch fitted Too coz my F-350 was LWB and it was a Pig for getting Stuck on wet grass with a slope on it, O use to keep 20 bags of sand on the back so I could put it over the back axle so I could get Traction,

John I don't take it off the road . Don't want to add a bunch of unnecessary weight either.
