Some of us are in the clutches of yet another winter storm that has dumped another 8 inches on us. Not that we're counting any more. Spring is just a few days away now.

It's finny how those of you who get Snow Like that Curse the Stuff and yet ever since I can remember I have Longed  For weather Like That,

Winter of 1962/63 was the worse one I remember and that turned to Ice and stayed for 3 months and People were driving Cars On the River Thames then there have only one or Two after that,

We are New Englanders and have to put up with it but we don't have to like it. It's rough. Tuesday we have another storm coming, bigger than this past one. This is the winter that simply will not end. We don't wish for this but when it arrives, we endure. If you looked into our basement and pantry, you would see 3 weeks or more of emergency supplies. Nature of the beast. It's the nature of living in New England. We even have rations and water for the dogs, naturally. And a place for them to do their business when they can't go out.

No wonder you can't wait for it to End, I think I would feel the same in that case, And them Poor Doggies can't go out and find their favourite Sniff or chase a Ball or a Stick. and of coarse you have to clear the Side Walks Over there Too, as if you don't have enough to do. It Looks Nice on TV But that does not show the Trouble it Cause's.

We all have cabin fever from being limited to only essential travel. That's by choice. We don't poke the bear and go for a pleasure ride in severe weather. The SUV is all we take out right now. We can plow through just about anything with that beast. Plus we have an emergency kit there. Blankets, food (for us and the dogs since they often come along), water, 2 way radio with weather channels, defensive items and etc.

The old Boy Scout motto is our life motto. "Be Prepared."

You would be surprized how many fools over here do not carry the right equipment when they Venture Out and 2 inches of Snow brings them down to earth very Quickly, I carry the Lot every winter and I use to spend my days recovering those who do not know how to Drive in Snow, crazy  People.

I forgot to mention that we also have sub zero sleeping bags in the kit. Plus two furry "belly warmers" who sleep with us when camping.

We're  getting  ready  for  more ICE and  a little  snow  as well  this  week  Tues will be 60° here then the bottom  falls
out and Wednesday  is rain ice sleet and a little  bit  of  snow .

Theses poor kids here won't  be  getting  a  spring  break .  Cause  there going to be  making up all the   missed
school  days.  My niece has 10 built in  snow  days here and they have  already  used  them  all.
think they have been  out a total  of  14 days  so far .  Some systems  only had 5 snow  days  here.

We have  a  backup  generator  and if that doesn't  work  we go to the RV. It's  under cover it's  full of propane  and gas
and  ready to go .just turn on the furnace  and get warm .

Hey GD, isn't it cold enough back there without crawling into a "sub-zero sleeping bag?"   LOL     Grin

GD, I have Three Hairy Kids.   They keep the foot end of the bed most warm until about 04:00 and then the Girls try to get under the blankets and you end up with One of three blankets  .    And then they get the Urg to go outside about 05:00Am.
