I know what Victor traps are but never heard of them being called mines.

If you ever  stepped  on one you would  think know it was a  landmine  especially  when  it's  your big toe.

My dogs would be way too curious. As it is now, I use the sticky traps and every now and again have to pull one from their noses or paws. Idiots.

that's what  we use now also .  Being way out in the   boonies . You can't  help  but  get a mouse  every now  and  then .
But I've never  seen  our dogs get caught  in one though.
I did have a baby  rattler caught on one in the old barn.

It only took one of my dogs getting the Snout Snapped and they lost interest.   Hurts like hell I would think .    I bate them with Pork Chop.  The mice seem to like the Hot Spicy kind coming from Mexico.  Cheese does not work.  Peanut butter is the best most of the time but these guys like Pork Chop.

When your out camping put a dab of Peanut Butter on a rock away from camp.  About 02:00 shine a flashlight out there and see what's going on.
