I just logged in with Chrome and remained a guest. It does appear that this topic has been removed from public view on the recent list. It remains at the top of the popular topics list  though. The ability to do that lies with an Admin only so Christian must have changed the permissions for this topic or (and this is most likely) an automatic update of some kind changed it for some reason. For certain it cannot be changed by a moderator or ordinary user.

What you are looking at is referred to as the Splash Page, Karl, and it is part of the Frames system that is installed here. The Frames system might be the culprit since it has the automatic update feature.

Is there some reason you are concerned about it? Does it not behave normally in all other ways?

Well Christian said he is redoing the landing page and not including chit chat or birthdays etc.
To keep the board looking busier with treasure instead of birthdays and chit chat etc..
