Go Up Go Down

Bad times with doctors in the military.

Never again under my own power will I go to another one.

Had my butt cut open to remove a cyst by a contract Greek Surgeon.

Had a Pin put in my shoulder by a Greek Surgeon with NO anesthetic.

NO MORE DOCTORS FOR ME!

Now here is a funny thing .

Wife is a Wal Mart Warrior.

She came home last week with cases of Canned Sweet potatoes.

Big Cans 29oz each. We have like some 50 cans of the stuff.

First thing I said was What Ta Hell are we going to do with all that?

She said, I got them for 10 cents a can. Couldn't let them go.

After watching her and the kid eat three cans in a row, I read the Ingredients.

SWEET POTATOES, WATER, CORN SYRUP, SUGAR! NO ADDITIVES!!!!!!!!!!

{alt}

Boiled up some water, Got out the 5 gal plastic water jug and a few Demijohn jugs.

Three cans in the big jug and half a can in each gal jug.

4 days later had to sample one ya know!

All the Sweet taste was about gone... Man this stuff was ALIVE over the first two day. Looked like it was Boiling.

Tasted Good it did.

One water glass and it was like I drank a few beers.

Going to let the Big jug go to wine. Still boiling. When it slows down a bit I'm going to give it a shot of sugar and see what it does.

WHOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Going to do some Full Scale Research on a few batches. LOL

My last check up as some of you know was just a normal physical for insur. purposes. I had to take a stress test. 30 minutes after the failed test I was in surgery. Said I could of fell over at any time due to a couple of 90% clogged arteries. Just saying...I fully agree that if you want to remain with the ones you care about you need to take care of yourself and a yearly physical is just one way to do that!!! Had NO symptoms of any kind. No shortness of breath nothing. Oh...and it was 65 degree's here today.

Yes your right Cache.    I should do that some day.    Like I said.   BAD BAD Experiences.

Seen more then a few of my Friends go in the front door of a VA hospital and get wheeled out the back.

I'm not saying all VA facilities are like that but I've seen it.

If it is falling off and I really don't need it, I'm not going to a doctor.

I hear ya Homie. Last thing I ever want to do is go to the doc or dentist. I want to see my grandkids grow up though and teach them the wonderful hobby of detecting verse's X-box and Wii, so I go. One thing is for sure...I DON'T always do what they say without a 2nd or 3rd opinion!! In my caes I had no choice at that time.  My father in law injured his foot. I'd been taking him to the doc for 3 months  weekly. They had been putting his foot in a whirlpool the whole time. We suggested he go to the wound clinic to get there opinion. His foot heeled one month later after seeing them for 4 weeks. Said they never use the old way of the whirlpool. Just like anything else, never buy the frist new car you see without shopping around frist!

When they put the pin in my shoulder, I would have let them cut off the arm if it hurt less then when I went in there.

In the end after 5 trips to Germany seeing a REAL doctor the took care of it.

Homie go to the VA, do ur initial exams and get ur name on the registry, and then go and get all your meds etc. taken care of.
the years you put in  , are worth that. Do it. then when you have a real emergency then you are taken care of .

Oh and check this out: The Stolen Valor Act.

I have already wrote my representatives in support of the Act. and everyone else should also.
Unless of course you happen to lie about you're service.

That may be part of my problems.

If I ever do go see a Doctor, they may tell me I'm never leaving.   LOL

What I don't know don't hurt.
