Now I have Fuel Problems.   Black Smoke out the Butt Hole.

Dies under Stress.

I let the Fuel tanks dry up .

I think it sucked up some Muck and filter is clogged.

Just Money and time.

Boy , Channel Two sure is quiet these days!

If I'm correct...black smoke is a sign of to much fuel? Burning rich, but I'm not a mechanic nor do I want to be! And make sure the exhaust is clear. Mice like to make nests in there!!!

Homie, I think Mudflap had the right solution!  I'm unclear on if the WL was for you, or the Van!   Either way I would try the carb...  If you leave a pool of white lightning in the exhaust pipe.  the next time you fart it's going to be very Hot blue Fire!!!     LOL!    Grin Laughing   Laughing  Grin  Laughing

Seriously,  What a bummer on where you are now.  Congratulations on getting it rolling down the road, but bummer on the fuel lines!  That sounds like me trying to do some mechanical work!  Worse Luck!

Homie! this is starting to sound like a country western song! just add something about motherhood, a gentle rain and a train. Seriously, if your truck is carbureted, now check for a stuck float or choke butterfly. It will try to get you down the road, but a couple of wet plugs will really do ya wrong. Next time you start it (air cleaner off) gently tap horizontally near the bowl and see if it doesn't immediately smooth out. I have two tools in my mechanics kit: a hammer and a screwdriver, but I like my hammer the best.

If its carburated and as long as it has sat, it also could be a bad accelerater pump? Our 64 thunderbird did the same thing and the flat rubber pump was hard as a rock!

Yep!   Probably the last year of carburetors.   1986.   Getting to it is another story.    Under the windshield, out of reach from the front.  Too far from under and Need someone to hold ya from falling in from the Cab .

God , I love vans but there such a pain in the Bollocks to work on.
