Go Up Go Down

Yesterday I was nearly attacked by a herd of goats. Funny I was exploring a country lane that looked like it may have a good site on it and drove down about a mile. I was getting my detector out of the truck and a herd of goats came out from under a fence just behind me and surrounded my truck. Never having to deal with goats before I said "shoo!". They wouldn't leave. I waved my arms and hollered. That got them going. The pack went back under the fence and disappeared in the woods. My question: Are goats lethal? gambol

Enough of anything can be lethal, mate. Good call to stay in the truck. Those wooly beasts will grab your clothes and rip them right from your body.

By the way, give us a bit of warning next time. I laughed out loud and spewed diet Coca Cola all over my laptop.

WW (Wicked Wanda) and I have goats

I had a  Nubian named Sid that was so large I could ride him like a mule around the yard.   He loved it as long as he knew he would get the beer at the end.

Poor thing died of Old Age.  17!

We keep Nubian's and La Manchus the ones with NO Ears.

Mental Note:   Do NOT leave yur pay check on the desk and the door open.   The Goats will eat it.

Both make the best milk.    We don't drink the milk but the Cheese is SOOOOOOOOOOO   Good.

I miss old sid, He was by buddy.

I could walk out in he lock up an let hem out.   He would stand by be me and as long as I had a beer he would walk me any place I pointed him.

I was going to use him on my gold panning trips.

He was so mellow , he would have carried a good size pack 40llb , his food and some of mine.

The old man decided to Die on me.   Bummer.

Guess that happens when you get old!

Can you imagine?   Dying after you are15 years old?

Sissy Goat!

I had an old billy goat so dang mean I pumped 6 rounds into him before he stoped twitching.

Walked into the pen one morning he had my daughter trapped behind a pole and when he saw me he charged me which gave her time to clear the pen , after he almost broke my leg , and I got out of the pen, I got my shot gun loaded 6 slugs in it and ripped him a new one , every time he moved I pumped another round in him,

His previous owner had his hip broke because of that billy, so it was time for him to go.
and yeah he tasted pretty good too.   Wink

Homefire, Sorry to hear about your favorite goat Sid, I guess he was one of the good goats.

Karl, It sounds like you had one of the baaad goats. I'm glad everything came out all right and tasty.

GD, I'm glad you got a laugh. Mark Twain wrote a story about a buffalo that climbed a tree after a man. I posted that some time ago when the conversation turned to bulls. Since then I have been looking very carefully at every critter wild and tame. Then the goats came on the scene and I knew I had to tell about it.   [funny]http://www.thunting.com/smf/treasure_hunting_abroad/detecting_in_south_africa-t19144.0.html;msg213588#msg213588
