Thanks ArfieBoy

I'll be posting a two box detector that I'm busy designing at the moment so keep an eye on the tech section.

All the best
Xavier

I'd be looking forward to seeing that although my experiences in treasure hunting tell me that there is very little hidden below 100cm or 36 inches. It takes a lot of effort to bury something that deep and just as much effort to recover it when you need it. Only a fool buries treasure for generations to come. Almost everyone who hides wealth intends to return for it one day so why on earth would you bury something that might be beyond your reach one day? Makes no sense at all.

An accidental rock or mud slide might cover it but that would be so rare as to be almost not worth seeking with all the other treasures left behind. Misfortune, accident, death or dementia account for probably 90% of the treasure caches we find and those treasures were meant to be recovered but by chance left behind.

I believe the only practical use today for a two box detector is meteorite hunting. Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary.

GD the main reason for this detector is that I will be able to walk around with it without arousing the attention of every one as detectors are not well known at all in Belgium. The design that I'm working on will not be able to detect at 300mm to 400mm it is small and should be able to detect a small statue. I will basically be using it for small cashes not buried at more than 400mm. The detector will have two selectable frequencies one of 9.3 Khz and the other is 18.1 Khz. I'm now working on the receiver that will be able to tell me if the object is ferrous or non ferrous (No discrimination) this detector is a very simple design with no bells and whistles at all just a sensitivity adjustment.

Seriously? You think a two box detector will attract less attention?

Just go ahead and use one. You can make new friends that way, too. Imagine all the virgin territory you will find there. Heaven on earth for most of us and you get to live it.

I used one for a few weeks in Germany a long time ago. One policeman approached me and asked, "Do I know what to do with unexploded ordnance?" I told him that I did and he left me to my fun.

I can see it now!   A Horizontal Coil on one shoe, Vertical on the other.  Hearing this Woop, Woop Sound as you walk.  Woopde Woop is a target.  Pin Pointing with your Left Toe,  Bending down faking tying your shoes as you dig.

See what you've done now? got me thinking about in-build shoe detectors LOL.

Thanks Nickel_n, I'm dyeing to get my new accommodation so that I can start to get some detector building done.
