Do you have any info on the competition dig to share? I always wondered what those might be like. The quick response time of a F2 might be great for that. I really  like mine, it's my take everywhere, and take abuse detector. I bungy cord it to my mountain bike to get at areas faster than hiking. I would never let my expensive detectors take that kind of jarring and abuse.

well i have dug targets with good signal at 9inches+in dirt  if conditions are right like right after a rain it goes alot deeper  or in thawing ground it does the same. as far as the beach in the sand i dug some at a or around 12 inches  if its a bigger target it will pick up deeper yet clay type soil i noticed is a little harder on it but if its moist it still does good  josey

Thank you, it's too far away for me to make it this time. But maybe some others here can. As far as the F2, for the price, I dont think it can be beaten if your buying new. I used an ace 250 (same price range) and what made me go with the F2 was the response time and target separation. No ground balance, so as long as your in an area where you dont need it, your fine. It's depth is very good for general detecting. Ive dug silver dimes at around 9" + in discrimination mode (I discriminate iron only usually). Check out others in that price range and compare. You cant go wrong with Garret or Fisher either way. The ace 250 has a huge following, and Ive seen some used locally. Like anything else, you get what you pay for. It definitely isnt my T2 SE, or some of the other expensive machines Ive had.

i got a garrett pro pointer (love it)  it is a good machine as well so i bet the 250 is good also  the main thing is getting time on your detectors if you get them figured out and dialed in and pay close attention to sound variations  you can really do good the numbers arent that important to me i will look at em some it seems  they serve best to identify trash but the sound is what tells me to dig targets generally  best practice is to dig it all and if you do that even a cheap detector  that just tells you somthing is there is sufficient we need rain bad around here the ground is cracked  and hard as a rock josey

Yes, we need rain badly. Something to think about to all those digging is to either not dig or water the holes after you do if its an area where someone will not appreciate a brown spot where your plug is. I dont dig private property when its dry unless the owners water it. It gives us a blackeye on our hobby if we leave brown spots all over.
