My house was built in 1850. The barn and livery have wooden plank flooring laid on the dirt, not framed. I'm looking forward to removing the wood and having a good search one day soon. Been saving that pleasure up for a visit from a forum pal. You just never know who will stop by.

Fingers crossed,, Banks back then were not the safest places to keep such wealth, So I would say you have A Higher than Average chance of finding something a bit Special, Double Eagles Perhaps or The odd Tin of Morgan's or Two.  Wink

Like I say, my plan is to wait for the first person to stop by from one of my haunts. No detector necessary. I have SEVERAL to offer visitors.

I've invited him often. One other thing. I can trace the occupation of this property back to the land grant days of the late 1500s when a silk mill and a dye plant were established because of the abundance of mulberry trees. The south end of our property still has the wagon ruts from when it was used as a road between the plants. That road was used for 200 years for wagon and foot traffic both.

Might be worth rounding up the Troops and taking care of all them odd chores at the same Time, So a Man don't need to worry by time winter settles in.  Great
