....time to start switching over to research season ---  or at least it is in Arizona   Devil

We officially recorded the first 100o F (37.8oC) day of the year at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix this afternoon.

Guess we'd better grab every chance we can to get out with the detectors before it becomes completely unbearable.

LOL! I got my fat but out side today to fire up the ol swamp box.

Hitting 85 the past few days and gets ugly out there by 11:00 or so.

I can still hunt if I had a damn truck running.

Just gotta do the Early morning thing and get what ya want before the sun toast ya.  LOL!

I know what you mean....I forgot my normal neck protection last weekend when I hunted down by Nogales.   Came back with the worst sunburn I've had in about 10 years (when I got locked outside with no phone while Mrs BA made a "short" trip to the store)

Metal detecting season winding down? Not here... I'd say for myself its research season between Nov to late Feb or March. We have our warm days in Aug but not long enough to keep a treasure hunter down. Although...the summer chores steal my time. Don't get to hunt as often as I'd like due to grass, gardening and grandkids, car shows etc...

been here then....ain't looking forward to that any more than the Northerners look forward to the annual deepfreeze..  Angry   During the height of summer (June, July, August, September) our local club usually tries to go as high in the mountains in the northern part of the state or even out of state in search of places cool enough for our club hunts.   Needless to say those are usually best on long weekends.

just imagine swinging a heavy old bounty hunter machine that weighs 6 lbs in 120 degree heat with no water bottle, no sun hat, wearing a solid black rubber suit with no shade for miles ah......brings back such fond memories, oh lets not forget the stench of the minerals that are baking in the heat driving your sinus's crazzzzzyyyyyyyy............. Torture
