After reading about the article on the stolen medal detector it would pay to photograph and
mark your equipment in such a way that it can be identified if found at a pawn shop or a suspects residence etc.. Photographs can show quite a bit about an item, just about as good as a fingerprint when comparing scratches, oddities in paint and ID markings. Keep your reciepts and photos in a file somewhere. I do this with just about everthing I have of value. Some of you probably do this, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't. It helps a good investigator to track things down a lot easiar..
