thank you good people.
yep! sick of the constant wobbles, and the fact that anything thats getting
fixed is only getting undone again.  Undecided

GD.. i'm never tired of people asking for updates and making sure we are ok, it shows they still care and are thinking about us down here.
one big fear i have is everyone not asking and forgetting we are still here getting through this.

On a lighter note, i just got myself a 2nd hand Garrett treasure ace 300, so i have something to distract me now  Great

Among my friends over there, it's split about 50/50 so, as I say, I limit my queries. I always answer e-mail, texts and posts like this.

We had a lecturer scheduled for an Australia and New Zealand tour. The coordinator in Christchurch told us not to bother because everyone was very busy on repairing the repairs that keep on getting damaged. Also, public places for a lecturer are limited. We scheduled an Auckland lecture with a discount for anyone coming in from Christchurch to attend. Only 24 showed up from there but it was nice to hear that they attended.

It's a grim situation, mate, and your neighbors over here on the big island haven't forgotten you at all. I was very disturbed to see that you had another major shaker last week.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I tell ya'
I'm sick of it now, well and truly.
Another big shake on the 23rd Dec'.  More buildings wrecked, more damage, and many aftershocks.
nearly 10,000 'aftershocks' since the initial one back in Sept' '10

anyone know next week lotto numbers...Huh??

 No no!

Good to hear you're still okay, but it sure has to be a stressful situation with the continued aftershocks!  Hard to believe it is still going on since Sept '10.  I can understand your being sick of it all.  If I knew the lottery numbers I woould sure give them to you!  Prayers and thoughts are with you.  Take care and good luck!         Detecting

Go Up Go Down

It's been many moons since I was around this place.
2nd anniversary of the big one that wrecked the city has just been, and things are
still a mess. Still have so much of the city to rebuild/repair. They are still demolishing
the old stuff. Red tape with government, city council, and insurance companies are
slowing everything down. I haven't been coping to well with everything to be honest,
things have been getting me down a lot, but things are looking up I think. We are
getting the repairs done to the house starting next week so despite the upheaval
of having to move out for a few weeks and arrange storage and accommodation, we
should soon have all the cracks in the walls and ceilings fixed, broken windows replaced
and we can start to care about a home instead of living in a shaken old house.
Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, I hope you all are doing well and finding lots
of great things. All the best, take care.
JJ

Good to hear from you Jamjars.  And that you are okay.  Good luck to you getting the house taken care of and repaired finally.  Hang in there and know that prayers and thoughts are with you!          Wise

So when all is sorted......will you be going to the red zone and maybe wave the wand around???
I hear that they are finding stuff from way back.

Cheers
