CCSportsdad, that avatar you have must be a picture of a Canadian Tree Dog.........ha ha ha.........Way to go Homefire.  My CCW classes start on August 18-19 then two week to get permit from the State.  Will be going to the range a couple of times this week to shoot the new SR9 9mm and get used to it.  Loving it to be able to carry all the time.

Hey Seldom, those Bar Hogs can be some real mean animals, and are hard to get rid of if you catch one, don't take it home! They are real Home Breakers. Grin Grin Grin

I have a concealed carry permit for two states.  One of them is recognized in about 32 states, which is why I got it.  Oregon is an "open carry" state, so no problem there.  I got the concealed carry because I ride a motorcycle a lot and it is easier to put a pistol in my pocket or jacket than strap it on in the open.  I really haven't been out in the hills much the last few years, but I will be carrying, one way of the other, when I do go out.

Which state is that issued from?

Growing up around guns we learned that they are just tools like a saw or screwdriver and like all tools they need to be respected.  I have carried a weapon in the field most of my career but seldom carry it out for all to see,99% of the time its a bad idea to show all your cards.

GoldDigger, almost any of the states that issue and or have classes for CCW permits can issue a general non-resident CCW permit.  It will cost a little more for the class that goes into detail of all the states you can carry in and what there laws are.
