You know how to shoot or you don't.

If you see a threat coming your way you pull the wepeon or you don't.

It's just a Tool.

200 hours at the Range will not make you any better when the time comes.

Rule Number 1!   If you pull it out you better be ready to Use it.

There is NO going back or Do Overs!

GD, the state CC permit that is recognized in so many other states is Utah.  It's a good deal if you want a permit so you can carry concealed in other states.

Go Up Go Down

This reminded me of a friend that went camping with me and had to take a dump and got between two trees instead of using a log to sit on.  He wedged his butt between the two trees and did his thing.  Wind came up and pushed the trees apart a little and he slid down until he could not get out and started shouting. A Ranger came by and saw him with his butt between the two trees and was laughing so hard he couldn't do anything for him.  With all the noise that was going on I came up the path and found them both laughing.  Ranger went to his truck to get a car jack to get my friend out of his mess he was in.  Ha Ha Ha Ha.......Still laughing Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin He was a city boy and did not want to use a fallen log to sit on. Still laughing, if I can find the picture of him stuck in the trees, if it is alright, I will post it. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

i agree homie and the best gun fight(my opinion) is the one that doesnt happen  but folks who aren't as sharp in a possible situation that they need every cylinder firing  should prepare a little at least  targets at the range aint shootin back  thats hard to prepare for  and when the slugs are flying  you got to focus and know how to use it . they are just a tool  the military operators law enforcement  and some security folks  are pretty sharp cause it keeps them alive when the pin hits the shell.

Not saying folks don't need some training, just you can shoot or you can't.

Hell, I've seen folks with the best pistols made that could not hit the broad side of a barn.

I've seen guys that could hit a 38 cartridge 30ft away on the ground from the hip.

Shocked People who have guns and cannot hit the broad side of the barn should not have them..  Angry (it'll be a safer place for everyone).. i think they should at least have a fair amount of competency in handling firearms first.  Grin Even if they learn using a .177 or .22 air rifle/pistol first, before they get onto the more powerful live ammo. Teach

Here in the uk if you have not got a licence to own a listed firearm then you'll be totally f*cked by the law if ever found to be using/carrying one. When you apply for a licence you have to prove what it will be used for, where and how and also whether the firearm you intend to purchase is right for the job it is to be used for i.e. rabbit hunting or pigeon shooting etc. laws here are very strict!  Great also you have to get a referee from a notable position i.e. a registered gun shop or shooting range to help prove you are sound of mind to own a firearm.

ok, folks, let's not let this become a US versus the rest of the world over whether or not the United States should adopt the same type of gun laws that are prevalent in much of the world.   This is an international forum with people from many different backgrounds and from countries with much different historical rationales for their particular laws and views.   Without a great deal of care and courtesy this conversation could get "bloody".   So feel free to continue the discussion, but please keep in mind we're talking to an international audience with deeply held beliefs on both sides as to what should and should not be allowed.
