About an inch above ground, my coil was skimering around
A bad hit here, A lousy hit there, the signals weren't good cutting the air.
I was listening for a belltone with a quick repeat and
my little sniper was sniffing at my feet.
First a beer cap and a zinc penny was there
a couple of bobby pins to hold up her hair.
This hobby of ours is a lot of fun,
smiles on your faces and frowns on some.
It's relaxing with the sun and a nice breeze,
if your lucky you will go home with sore knees.
We don't ask for much as we swing around,
a good solid signal would be nice from the ground.
I'll keep on swinging because it is fun
and i'll fill in my holes when i am done.
I want my kids and grankids and all
to know dear ole dad is having a ball.
I crossed a sidewalk, just a slab
a solid nickel hit, "damn pull tab"!
