caught the show yesterday..........i'm officially done  the way fat bot swings his coil,nice 4-5 inch arc on his upswing,droppin his detector on purpose from hip high.........posers,like to find out what the two guys they dropped from the show think

LOL I agree Adrian but not much we can do. All these reality shows are produced to entertain the masses not as how to guides but many folks are taking the bait and buying metal detectors.

Adrian I'm sure you know,
that the TV producers don't care about the hobby and the good decent detectorist and our code of conduct, so it's all big business to them which spells broadcast bucks and anything goes in their eyes, that's why they Aired the program and they will continue to Air this program or any others like it, as long as it's profitable for them to do so.

I agree with your concern and objection to shows like this, they sure don't show the true hobbyist and our care for the environment we detect in. It kind of makes us look like this Jerk in the video below to the general public, but we know inside our selves that we are not like these people on these shows or in this video:

Yea we Know what's going on but how about that City Councilman or woman with the Pin in there hand thinking about signing the New Ordinance on Banning Metal detecting in the Parks?

Shows like that could be the Turning Point.

Some of their actions do shed a bad lite on the detector community . But i got real doubts about some of their discoveries , i guess when you are syndicated to a network and expected to provide the goods weekly and have a lean week you might just "Find" ( read Plant ) objects , some come out of the ground looking way too fresh , but it is just entertainment . cheers Mick

Hi Homie,
well I don't think that any of us can or could do anything about the town council persons decisions from a show they may watch on TV. I mean of course they might get a wrong idea from these types of shows, but what are we to do about that?  (Not much we could do I suspect)

I'll say this, that what ever change or ordinance they would put into effect, isn't going to change my mind or when & where I detect! 

These town & city council groups try to scare people, they make rules & laws that limit peoples free rights, and as long as we people let them think they have more power than they actually do have, then they will continue to do what ever they want. The deal is, the detecting hobbyist have to group together and go into these city & town council meetings and stand up for their rights!

All I was trying to say is these STUPID shows leave people with Impressions.

It's sad that to the most parts people don't fight back until the Dirty Deed is done.

If the Regs and Law have not been activated you have a Chance.

Once there in place it's over.

I think were all on the same page here & that was the true reason I posted this thread, to get some thought going on this and then to instill vigor into those of us who do care about keeping this hobby free of any rules & regulations that might get enacted due to these TV shows.
