Go Up Go Down

If a person walking a long distance with no meaningful points of reference?
Which direction do you think he would drift.
I say a right-hand individual would drift to the left.
Opinions welcome !

Actually Xavier am a bit cautious at the risk of sounding stupid its best to stand back and watch the pros.
This question has always intrigued me and I think I know the answer

Well this thread is not really the place for this discussion so I'm going to move it to let it grow.

I think the science has already been done on that, but I don't remember what the answer was. Try goggling it.

Another point of the question is if there are no meaningful points of reference, (such as deep space) how does one know if it is left or right? Or up or down? Or forward or Back?

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Why would you walk if you have no place to go?

Does this mean we are pros at sounding stupid? Or am I just reading his English wrong? I would like to think the error is on my side.

No References?   The person is Blind?  You have the Sun in the day time and the moon and stars at night.  Emmm   I'm Stumped.   Only think I can think of is a White Out Blizard?   Day or Night?   Day you could still see some sun I would think...   Again I wouldn't walk to unknowns.

In a forest people are known to walk in circles, question was in what direction of rotation if the person was right handed would the person go? this would also apply to someone that has been blind folded and told to walk for some time. A right handed person has more strength in his right side therefor will push more with the right leg making him drift to the left. This however dose not necessarily apply to the old school guys and gals, why? well because left handed people were made to write with there right hand making them false right handed people and therefor (In my opinion) would drift to the right having the left side more developed. Dose this make any sense?

Yes it does Xavier.  I beleve that was the study I w as s referring to. However, the question posed did not say he was blind or blinfolded, only that there were "no discernable points of reference", which infers that one must have some way of determining where he is.
