I think 7 was vista without the bugs.
i still run XP on my main PC,i will stay on it as long as i can.

Go for it Nickel. It's not a bad operating system. Only problem you might run into is if you have to reinstall it. You have to go online to register it after a few days. With no support I would find out if they are still accepting registration.

You probably have a virus that's memory resident and only works on 64 bit, so could very well be that it still there.

Could be. However Vista was a 32 bit version and so is the 7 version. The 64 bit version is on this laptop. It's an Intel core i7. The other was a Pentium 4.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Microsoft is pretty smart , I see what they are doing now .  They do not want to give a free update to Windows 7 because it works Good !!!

Give everyone Windows 8.1 free so Microsoft can work out all the bugs !!!  Every computer around the world that has a free copy of Windows 8.1 installed will be sending each problem it encounters everyday to Microsoft !!!

Maybe they have a lot of Windows 7 piracy too, and eventually Windows 7 will be eliminated !!

Microsoft Madness !!!!  LOL     Angry

Best Regards...................Eugene
