i clean everything thats less than around twenty bucks,but sometimes even higher valued.

hagerty's silversmiths polish really buffs up that silver,nickel & copper on a variable speed buffing wheel.also keeps it from retarnishing or further corrosion.

From the land of the Bluenose...this works great

Line a glass pie plate with tin foil...add baking soda and put coins in...dont mix metals !!!!
Pour boiling water in roll down tinfoil over coins let sit,,,,rinse next day..repeat if necessary!

Happy hunting
  Have one for coppers too!

I've heard the same thing but  using aluminum foil instead of tin foil. Either way is a good way to clean coins but keep in mind- their are some coins you simply don't want to clean because you might ruin the value. So if you find some unusual old coins- check with a coin dealer first.
