If you plan on keeping them, and want the simplest, fastest way....soak them in a solution of white vinegar (typical 5% cooking type) and 1/2 water with 2 tblsp of table salt per pound over night, and tumble them in the morning in aquarium rocks or steel shot. BB's work good on penny's, but dont use them on clad, and never tumble silver. Not like that anyway lol. They'll look shiny and new. There are ways to put a patina on them, but Ive never done that with copper. You can always bury them for a year or so to patina them  Funny  I like to use electrolysis if I"m only doing a couple coins that I want to look really  nice. Copper is soft, tumbling really takes the detail out to get them clean. Electrolysis is fast and only cooks the bad stuff off instead of beating up the coin. Just dont forget the electrolysis is going.....Ive fried alot of expensive coins by getting sidetracked.
