Is it made of copper? You can use a bit of lemon juice on it. But be carefully. If you apply to matchy ou may damage the good patina while you only want to remove the green oxidation in some places.

PLease DON'T clean IT!
You'll destroy the value !
Other than washing it off with a little warm water and very gentle, soft toothbrush!
Antiques should NEVER be Cleaned!
If you don't believe this check with a coin/antique dealer!

 thanks, i was told a cpl years ago when i got into Md'ing that u could use olive oil to clean coins,etc, by soaking them in the oil, which was supposed to help preserve it as well....thank you for info...gregg
