Salt and vinegar in a rock tumbler for 45 minutes. NO LONGER! MUST NOT let even one penny in the quarters, nickels and dimes. Do the pennies separately! This is a MUST!  Remove the coins from the cleaning solution and wash them to get all the cleaning solution from them and then dry them. The coins WILL NOT be pinkish looking but might be a little dull looking. I take mine in whatever container, to my bank and let them put the coins into a coin counter and deposit them into my savings account. Never have had a single problem. Smiley

I have found out that it's important to use the Heinz brand vinegar since I have been using the generic brand and it seems as though it is taking longer to clean them and there is a dull finish on the coins.
If I have a dull finish on the coins  I tumble them again with gravel and dishwashing detergent for about a couple of hours.
I rub the coins with paper towels to take the dull finish off of them.

That's like what my coins look like when I tumble them.
I use a Thumbler's tumbler with a dual drum system.
I just roll them up and turn them in to a convenience store.
