I hear that aquarium rocks and dish soap work best. Not having a tumbler myself i have never tried it but that's what I have read. There is a section on the forum dedicated to cleaning and preserving your finds.

Try using stainless steel tumbling media , available on ebay , and if you add a teaspoon of tartaric acid or lemishine.

What ever you do Never mix silver, nickel, or copper.
Especially copper. if you do all coins will turn red.
Experiment first.

Yep Separate all.   Aquarium Gravel (The Natural Stuff, not epoxy coated).   No Acids , just a drop of dish soap.
