Most of the GPAA & other groups are pretty far away from south orange county.  In addition,
I would like to tie in with Thunting.com.  The warm welcome convinced me to stay here.

If there are some people here in this area that are interested in prospecting etc. let me know.
I have plenty of equipment and am preparing for short trips.

Kenny

Hello KennyG. That is a great idea . I read stories of two good places to look for gold in Southern California . I will post it tommorrow . I will be in Los Angeles for 6 months working and playing , building projects and Detecting . I know there are several other forum members in California . I am leaving Nevada in a few hours . About the first few weeks I will be working and won't have time . I will keep watching this post . You will get to meet a hard worker and I do not drink . Plus I am not looking to get paid , just for fun and Gold !!!
Regards....... Great...Eugene

Temecula is where the GPAA office is. You consider that too far away? To walk, maybe. Do you drive?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Bummer,

I left CA in 2002 and now reside in Orange County, NC.  I know CA has some great gold
areas and I hate I'm on the other coast, I'd sure be interested.  We do find some around
here too just gotta be determined.

Good luck!

The GPAA has a claim at Vain Mountain in NC. You might consider joining them. Your state is rich in gold history. But you are right it is probably not as easy as CA. I just got done panning out a whole five gallon bucket of consentrates and only got three tiny peices of gold.

Hi,

Yeah,  I used to be a member but life took me a different way (divorce late 1990's) and I lost pans,
detectors, everything associated (except my gold... gotta love the safety deposit box).  Maybe I'll
check them out again.   I lived not far from that site in 1982....  Odd how life seems to be one big
circle for me.  Undecided

I've pulled buckets of "dirt" from stream beds all over NC, classified it and still have concentrates
I haven't panned (need to buy a new pan).  I've also got some bags of quartz bearing rock that
I need to crush (collected on a side trip when I was traveling between NC and CA in 2001-2002)
and hope for color.  This board has me fired up to get moving!  Guess one never really gets over
the fever...

Thanks for the heads up SVBerry!
