I guess I'm not a real coin collector.  Just silver mining.  I never look at the faces of dimes.  I edge search all dimes.  Actually, I edge search everything now (life's short, play hard Wink)  The silver dimes will 9/10 jump out and smack you as soon as you see it.  the 10th one will be the heavily discolored variety that is still easy to spot.  I will do quarters from time to time.  I try to pick the right time for that.
The one thing that kills me on the dimes is every once in a while you get a well traveled Canadian.  BAH.  The last four boxes I did were nice cause in addition to the false alarm Canucks, I got two silver ones as well as nine rosies and a merc.

Steel pennies, while not really worth that much are an awesome find.  Your fiancee is a keeper Amen.

I started a War on Silver last month! Rider I went through a bunch of halves in May and found 204 Silver!  Great

I found the Following:
Kennedy's 40% - 142
Kennedy's 90% - 51
Franklin 90% - 9
Walking 90% - 1
Canadian 80% - 1

I also found 2 British Pennies??? A 1920 and a 1891!

Oh! And I can't forget.....A Putt-Putt Token!?!?

At current Silver prices that's about $1600-$1700 worth of Silver!
Not Bad for about a 2 week run on halves! Wise

I got a indian head nickel as change at a c-store and got three more when I asked the cashier, not a big score but interesting to find in circulation.

My wife collects coins and I think the older Indian heads are worth something.

Nice! I might out to start checking dimes? Sounds like you did pretty well! Keep stashin' back the silver! I'm expecting it to be really up there by the end of the year. When it breaks the $50 mark I'll start sellin' off some of my sterling......maybe?

I picked up 8 40%ers at a yard sale a couple weeks ago for $15, it was a lot easier than searching and re-rolling all those halves.

I know the feelin! There's some days I would've been far better off to have went out and just bought some silver, compared to the time and gas I spent to find one or two..if ANY!. Undecided

But! Then there are those "Other" days....that make it all worth it! Cheesy
