Good find ,   Looks a bit moth-eaten whats it made of , silver?     I find copper coins dont do too well buried for too long they seem to corrode up pretty badly. the ones we have anyway .

Pardon my ignorance ! Crazy

But what is " Coin Roll Hunting "   I've never heard of it been done before .   I am aware that the banks wrap their coins in paper rolls when they bundle their coins in set amount lots .  but do people bury these rolls in the ground ? Undecided

to aussie......."coin roll hunting"....i buy loose and hand wraped rolls of 50 cents from the bank, and look for the silver coins....90% silver coin are dated 64 and before.....40% silver coins are dated 65/70 .....the 90%er are worth about $4.80 each and the 40% are worth about $1.75 each.....now did the aussie government mint silver coins for the public and can you still find the from your banks.....
