Has anyone ever seen a Barber Quarter with what appears to be rust on it?

Picture is a little fuzzy. I have not seen one that was "rusty". May be something in the soil close to it.

Was it laying next to some iron or in a tin can or something. I don't believe it should rust itself. Must have picked it up from something against it.
